My New York Palette

view of empire state building

Having worked in New York City for over two decades, I was certain that I knew Manhattan.  I ate from its countless food carts and inside some of its poshest restaurants.  In my earlier years, I partied after work and after-hours and frequented many bars and nightclubs.  I took part in much of what the city had to offer terms of culture and the arts. But recently,  I relocated my entire life; all my things and my snail mail address to New York City.

Immersion offers an entirely new perspective than living on the periphery and I am uncovering a New York like I’ve never know before. Here, I offer you my entirely new experiences as seen from my vantage point; a woman who’s not in her twenties, not married, and not in midlife-crisis mode.

I present you new stories à la mode.

One of my favorite new experiences that I’ve encountered since moving to New York City is Bikram.  Don’t get me wrong; although I say I love it, I actually hate it.

    Apartment Hunting
By tamara on March 12, 2015

The Manhattan renter’s market is really like no other.  The pace is lightning fast and apartments list today for a move-in date tomorrow.  So when I brought a lead time of several months, no agents really wanted to talk to me – until of course, I gave them my price range.
